A new leak emerging from China has claimed that Xiaomi is working on its first dual-edge display smartphone, believed to be dubbed Mi Edge, likely to launch in October this year.
The tip comes from KJuma’s Weibo account, a tipster who in the past leaked details of unannounced handsets being manufactured in China, and has been corroborated by MyDrivers, which has even shared what appears to be a mock-up image of the Xiaomi Mi Edge.
According to the preliminary details, Xiaomi’s new smartphone will feature a 5.2-inch QHD display with 565ppi pixel density and will also sport dual-curved display, similar to the ones seen on Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ , Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 2017 Features & Specifications
Under the hood, the handset is said to be powered by a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor coupled with 3GB or 4GB of RAM. One of the reports points that there is a possibility that Xiaomi includes a fingerprint scanner on the Mi Edge smartphone. Lastly, the dual-edge display handset is said to launch in October and will be priced at the equivalent of $391 (approximately Rs. 26,000).
All these leaks should be taken with a pinch of salt as Xiaomi has not mentioned anything about the upcoming device and the legitimacy of the leaks remains questionable.

- The Mi Note 2 is pegged to be powered by a Snapdragon 821 SoC
- Xiaomi will offer 64GB and 128GB inbuilt storage options
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is expected to launch on Friday, but before that happens, we already know quite a bit about the smartphone. The Mi Note 2 has been subjected to various leaks, and the latest comes in the form of more images. These new images testify to the old rumours of a dual camera setup, and the dual-edge curved display.
The latest Mi Note 2 images were leaked by tipster @kjuma (and were picked up by Gizmochina). The images aren’t as clear as the render images we were treated to a while back, but they still clearly show the much talked about dual-edge display. In the meanwhile, Xiaomi has taken inspiration from Huawei, LG and HTC to introduce the dual camera setup in the Mi Note 2. However, this isn’t the first smartphone that Xiaomi has introduced with two cameras at the back. The Xiaomi Redmi Pro launched in July also sported the dual camera module.
One of the images also give away some of the specification details, and the Mi Note 2 is expected to feature an all metal body, a 5.5-inch Oled screen, 6GB RAM, 128GB inbuilt storage offering, and a Snapdragon 821 chipset.
