Speaking of leaked press renders, the upcoming devices seem to look very similar to last year’s Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. The edges on the Galaxy S7 are a bit curvier than its predecessor though, which is more pronounced on the flat variant than the Galaxy S7 Edge.
The Galaxy S7 is said to possess a 5.1-inch screen, while the Galaxy S7 Edge will possess a 5.5-inch display. Both will be Quad HD Super AMOLED displays. Under the hood we will find either a Snapdragon 820 chipset or an Exynos 8890 depending upon the market. It’ll be paired with 4GB of RAM, and 32GB and 64GB storage options. This time Samsung seems to have brought back the microSD card slot, which was missing in the Galaxy S6 that led to become a deal breaker for many. It may also be waterproof, just like the Galaxy S5.
For the optics, Samsung is said to be going for a 12-megapixel shooter, which is a downgrade from 16-megapixel, but paired with a larger f/1.7 lens aperture that is said to perform well in low light conditions.
The device will be powered by a 3,000mAh battery with an USB Type-C port, while the Edge variant will get a slightly bigger 3,600mAh battery.
