  • The candidates belonging to the general category should be of maximum 25 years.
  • OBC (NCL) candidates should be maximum 28 years old.
  • SC/ST category candidates are required to be maximum 30 years old.
  • There is an age relaxation of upto 5 years for the candidates domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir between January 1, 1980 and December 31, 1989.
  • Similarly, ex-servicemen and commissioned officers also enjoy the age relaxation of upto 5 years.
3Academic Qualification
  • The candidates should have completed and qualified their 4 year full time B.Tech/BE or equivalent degree from a recognized institute or University.
  • Final year students will also be eligible to apply. These candidates will have to submit documentary proof of having passed the degree examination with the required marks.
  • Candidates with integrated courses or courses with 5 years or more duration will not be termed eligible to apply for the position.
4Marks Required
  • General and OBC (NCL) Category candidates should have secured minimum 60% marks.
  • The minimum percentage marks to be secured by the candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD candidates is 50%.
5Medical QualificationA pre-employment medical examination will be done on the candidates before joining.

How to Fill Application Form for BPCL Recruitment through GATE 2018


The BPCL Recruitment 2018 application form is available in online mode from January 8, 2018. The candidates will have to fill all of the required information and submit the application form by February 2, 2018.


Before filling the application form of BPCL Recruitment 2018, the candidates are requested to keep a scanned copy of recent colour passport photograph ready. The file should not be more than 50 KB and the format should be PNG, JPG or JPEG. Candidates must also upload a soft copy of their academic degree certificate (only for candidates who have passed out))/ latest semester mark-sheet (for candidates in their final year of graduation). The size of the certificates must not be more than 100 KB and must be in jpg, png or jpeg format. PwD candidates are required to uppload a copy of their disability certificate (size not more than 100 kb and of type jpg, png or jpeg).

After the successful submission of the application form of BPCL recruitment through GATE 2018, a unique application number will be generated. The PDF format of the filled application form will be sent to the registered email ID of the candidates. The filled application form has to be printed out, signed and a photograph of the candidate has to be affixed. The photograph has to be similar to the one uploaded. This form has to be submitted by the candidates if they are shortlisted for the interview.


Selection Process for BPCL Recruitment through GATE 2018


The selection process for BPCL recruitment 2018 will consist of three stages – shortlisting, further shortlisting on the basis of performance and final selection. The process will be held after the announcement of GATE 2018 result.

What Happens After Selection?


After successfully completing the selection process, the candidates will have go through the following process for at the BPCL:


Probation and Training: The candidates will be selected as “Management Trainee” placed in Job Group “A”. The total probation period for the candidates will be one year which can also be extended if the performance is non-satisfactory.


Post-Probation: Those candidates who complete their probation period successfully will be placed as an “Executive” in their respective business unit/entity.


Job Posting: According to the company, the candidates will be posted to any of the BPCL offices across the country.


Work Profile: The candidates will be provided their work profile. Posts in Operations, Process, Sales and Engineering at refineries may be provided. Those candidates who are posted in Operations will be required to work in shifts.


Salary Details of BPCL Recruitment through GATE 2018


Basic salary of Rs. 24,900 is paid to the selected candidates. The pay scale for the candidates ranges from Rs. 24,900 to Rs. 50,500 along with Dearness Allowance (DA) based on IDA pattern. Depending on the posted city, the candidates will also be paid house rent assistance.


Cost to Company: Effective from January 1, 2017, Rs. 10.5 lakh per annum is the Cost to Company (CTC). This will include 50% of the basic pay as perks and allowances along with the performance related pay. It is also inclusive of 30% of basic plus DA as superannuation benefits (Provident fund, Gratuity and New Pension Scheme). Other payable requisites include housing/ vehicle loan facility, group savings linked insurance scheme and more.
